  • I mainly work in color, but am more than happy to do a piece in black and grey as well! I enjoy bold, thick lined designs with saturated color along with woodcut. Take a look at my portfolio page or my instagram @tader.the.creator for examples of the tattoos I prefer doing.

I also really enjoy doing reworks or fixing pieces that need extra love!

  • I do not specialize in cover ups, so I am very picky on the ones I take on and will not take on a cover up project if it not something I am 100% sure I’d be able to do. Some things that make me confident in a cover up project are if the client has an open mind to what we do, they understand that the new tattoo will have to be significantly larger, and if the original tattoo is faded enough.

  • This depends on several factors, such as size, placement, and the complexity of the design, which all affect the time required to complete the tattoo. My current rate is $140/hr for custom work and $100/hr for flash pieces. Fill out my booking form to get an estimated price range for your piece!

  • Your deposit reserves your appointment and the time setting up before you arrive. It also ensures that I receive compensation in the event that you are unable to make it to your appointment, arrive late, or request major changes to the artwork after it has been drawn. These fees are nonrefundable and apply toward the final cost of your tattoo.

  • Deposits can be paid online via Venmo, or in cash at the shop. The remaining cost for your tattoo is due in cash only at your appointment. We have an ATM on-site for your convenience.

  • I do not send out designs prior to appointments. Your piece will be drawn and ready when you arrive, and at that time you can make any requests for changes. I highly recommend that you be as specific as possible in your initial description and/or provide reference photos to ensure my drawing matches your vision.

  • If you aren’t happy with your design, I will absolutely make small adjustments to better fit what you have in mind at the start of your appointment. However, completely changing the concept or placement, or asking for major changes that require more than 30 minutes of drawing time will result in the loss of your deposit to cover the additional time needed to redraw your piece, and in some cases may require your appointment to be rescheduled to a different date.

  • I am happy to customize most of my predrawn designs! Discounted designs, tattoos during flash events, and pieces pulled from my Get What You Get tattoo machine sometimes may not be changed or may require an additional fee for customization requests.

  • You are welcome to invite a buddy along to sit with you during your appointment. However, space is limited so any additional guests must remain seated in the lobby to prevent my station from getting too crowded. If your guest is distracting or disruptive they will be asked to wait in the lobby.

  • Gently exfoliate and moisturize the area to be tattooed daily for at least 1 week prior to your appointment. On the day of your tattoo, shower and pick an outfit that is comfortable and easy to move out of the way of your tattoo. Don’t forget to a full meal before you arrive as well!

  • You must bring cash/a card you can access the ATM with for payment, and a valid, government issued photo ID for your consent paperwork.

If you are a minor, you will need your ID, your parent present with their ID and a photo of your birth certificate.

To make yourself more comfortable and help pass the time you may wish to bring a book, fidget toys, headphones, snacks, water, a jacket or blanket, or a pillow.

  • Tipping is always appreciated but never expected. If you wish to show your support without spending extra money, sharing my work on social media and recommending me to your friends is a huge help!

  • I will tattoo anyone above the age of 16 years old, as long as they have parental consent & the parent is able to be present for the entire appointment.

For check in you will need your ID, your parent’s ID, and a photo of your birth certificate. Our front desk workers are notaries and can help with the paperwork required by law to get tattooed.

I do have limited placement for minors and will not tattoo their hands, necks, faces, or the rib area.

  • If you follow my aftercare instructions but you feel that your tattoo has significantly faded or healed improperly, please email me a clear, well-lit photo so I can look it over and determine if a touch-up session is needed. At my discretion I typically offer one free touch up session within one year of your initial tattoo appointment. Additional touch-up sessions, touch-ups on tattoos that healed improperly due to failure to follow my aftercare instructions, or touch-ups on tattoos that we have already discussed are prone to fading due to placement or application/style will be charged at my full hourly rate ($140/hr).

  • No, I have not been licensed long enough as a tattoo artist in the state of Kansas to legally train anyone.

I am happy to give pointers and help guide someone in the right direction to prepare them for an apprenticeship though! Here are some tips:

    • Learn to draw in multiple styles, but also find your own unique style as well.

    • Collect all of your finished pieces in a professional binder with a resumé.

    • You can showcase multiple mediums, this gives artists multiple perspectives when it comes to designing pieces.

    • Create an art instagram page. This way you can be seen and potential mentors can keep checking in on your progress. This shows that you are prepared.

    • Don’t go into a shop you’ve never been in and ask for an apprenticeship, get familiar with the shops you’re interested in working with and ask for advice on how to make your portfolio stronger.

    • DO NOT buy a machine off of amazon and tattoo yourself or your friends from your home. This is illegal, dangerous, and irresponsible. No mentor wants to take on someone with lots of bad habits to unlearn.

    • Prepare yourself mentally, and teach yourself how to have a good work ethic. Tattooing is a 24/7 job and doesn’t end when you leave the shop. It’s not a hobby or a way to make a quick buck, it’s a lifestyle.

    • Draw tattoo designs for your friends and family and go with them to their appointments to get critiques from the artists on how to make more tattoo-able designs.
